I'm scared

November 24th, 2008 at 01:57 pm

I'm trying not to panic, but I am. I just got the mail, bill, bill, bill, bill. That's fine, I'm used to that. And I'm used to trying to scrape the money together to pay them to the best of my ability.

Unfortunately, work has been SLOW. Today I added up all the work I did this month, after tomorrow I will be all caught up and out of work and being that it's a stupid holiday week, there's nothing going on and no jobs to go on.

When I get my checks next month, they will be HALF of what I'm used to get. Yes, that's right, HALF. I have no idea what to do. I've sold everything except my soul. I have nobody to borrow any money from.

I try to stay positive, but this might be the end. I mean, I know if I miss ONE credit card payment with the amount that we owe on the credit cards it will make the interest go to high that we'd be unable to pay it. $7.00 in the savings account.

I'm scared : (

********
As soon as I was about to hit publish, my phone rang and it was the office saying that I'm on STANDBY for a job that "might" go tomorrow. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEEEEEEEASE cross your fingers for me that this job goes so I can get paid for it when I so desperately need the money!!! Sometimes they go, sometimes they don't when they're standby cases. I NEED this to go!!! *crosses fingers*

    Best wishes for you!

If you can't pay cc bill next month, make sure you pay for food, utilities and housing...in that order. After those, send some sort of payment to cc. Yes, interest may go up, but it is worse than not eating or having heat. Keep the priorities straight.

((HUGS)) I know the feeling... but, believe me, finding out exactly how much you owe is the first step... we are here to cheer for you on this journey!

Have you thought of getting a holiday job at UPS or the mall? This might help to just get you by.

Just a thought and good luck.

  7. Front Porch Mom Says:

Keep your chin up and continue to talk and network to others about your needs. The Holidays seem to make money and job issues that much harder emotionally it seems. Praying for you.

Things will work out. Growing up, my mom was in the same circumstance...I remember going to the grocery store and she'd tell me "we have 4$ to buy groceries this week"..somehow we made it. :-)

BUT...seeing as how my story of encouragement won't solve the issue at hand, maybe you could call your credit card company and work something out? All they can say is no.

    Best Wishes!

Fingers are crossed for you. I hope it goes thru. Are there any other jobs you could take on that are just 1 day a week or as-you-have-time work-at-home type jobs? You probably have NO spare time if you have 2 jobs, but it's just a thought.

Yikes. Is your husband helping out in any of this?

  14. campfrugal Says:

Im with BA, where is your husband in all of this. Good luck to you in the upcoming months.

My husband has been bedridden the past week. He's got chronic health problems that the doctors aren't able to diagnose and due to it he hasn't worked since October 2007. When he's feeling good he does small handyamn jobs or mechanic jobs, but I'll be surprised if that happens this month with how he's feeling.
